Reinstatement process...

hello, im just gonna jump in here.

i was raised jw.

was being crushed under the weight of the expectations and at 20, after moving to a new city (boy do i wish i hadnt trasferred to a new cong) i quit attending.

How long it takes depends a lot on the group of elders you are dealing with, the ones that Dfd you. A friend of mine went back after being Dfd for fornication and it took them a year of non-stop meetings and groveling at the back of the hall.

If you intend to fade again or become pretty much inactive, it will be up to your family how closely they associate with you. You know them better than us. If you think you can pull it all off, it might be a way back to your family. A hard one, though, to say the least. Best wishes to you.

hi, my name is alison and i am having a very hard time to accept what is going on in my life.

hopefully anyone that can help me can certainly will receive much more from jehovah.. also i find by writing about my story can help other individuals going through the same thing can help make them to make wise decisions in life.... i am 21 years old and my ex boyfriend is 25 years old .

we were going out for one year and three months which is unfortunate it could not last longer.

ok, i had initially intended on commenting on two things in barbara's commentary in another thread, that combined, make for an interesting scenario for jw pedophiles - then i was distracted by a question from purps, and decided i'd use this comment to start a new thread.

Having inappropriate thoughts about an older teenager who is under legal age and doing something sexual with them are 2 different things. Once a person crosses that line, they should never be put in a position of trust around children again. Period.

I was looking at the intro info last night. It struck me how long this 3 year rule went on and how easily elders just went along with it. And obviously, they just pulled this rule out of thin air, as there is no Biblical directive involved. It shows what happens when people are willing to follow other men blindly.

Then it mentions that some were instructed to write in the column "except for pornea". The DO letter included showed how very confusing the whole set-up was. They were always more interested in their own protection than the kids involved. It took a major crisis to bring about any change. It certainly isn't over yet.

I sure miss him. John Lennon had it right in a lot of ways. I love that song and Imagine and many more. Too bad they shot him. And yes, God is a concept and there is a lot of pain to measure.

How does the GB convince another to become "Anointed" ?

this question from another thread, why is the # for annointed still in the 8,000's?

made me wonder if this had been asked before.. the newest members of the governing body were not always anointed.

I don't know if anything is said verbally, but a lot is obvious from just paying attention. I saw a young man from the MS school suddenly become annointed. It has served him well. If these ones prove to be company men, then they will go far. But I think it takes both to make it to the top.

And yes, they desperately need some inspiration on the gov. body. They seem to be just drifting along.

Thanks for sharing that with us. I will look it up. I have been trying a little experiment when I find myself becoming irritated or just dismissive of others. I tell myself, Hey, that is me, meaning that we are not so separate as my mind tells me. I find this immediately stops the stories or judgements in my mind.

I don't exactly know how to word this, but it brings me into the present and helps me be much less judgmental.

I hugged my dad tonight...

i posted in "my story" that my dad had never hugged me.

when i really thought about it i decided it was time to do something about that.. we went for supper at my parents tonight.

Did he stiffen up? I had to train my parents to hug. They were stiff for quite a while. Now it's only the occasssional stiffness. They still never initiate a hug, but I can tell they like one.

Keep working on them and it will deepen and soften your relationship with them. Everyone needs human contact and as people age, they tend to get less of it.

and i suppose jws including my parents with my dad being an elder, will find that this is the result of angelic direction or whatever .

Unless you want to come clean and face their nonsense, just deny as others have said. If you do deny, you will have to watch that your parents don't find cigarettes or other things in your stuff. They set the 2 witness rule, use it.

On the other hand, you need to start setting in motion the means to take care of yourself. You say you have a job. Are you still in school? Do you have friends on the outside that you could room with, if necessary? Sooner or later, you are going to get caught, so you need to start planning now.

this km was discussed however,i wanted to make a comment.the wtbs does not want the r&f to question their reseach and accept want they(gb) say.let's look at one of their publication they mentioned in the sept07km.the revelation (1982) book.the nov06km had over 70 correction.than they printed a soft cover edition with a whole lot more corrections.so we have to accept their bs when a child knows a lot more about the bible than the gb/fds/wt.and they don't want us to question their publications when there are sooooooooooooooo many mistakes.look at other books,the wishy-washy king of the north etc etc .they must be really brain dead.my guess is most die heart jw who read one of the wtbs books and immediately forget what they read.. bob.

I keep hearing how the jws are falling. I have not seen it happen here yet, some setbacks, but not total demise. I have been out for a couple of years though.

Not that I don't see issues where they should not be very worried. It should be interesting to watch.

What Positive Things Have You Achieved Since Leaving?

purps' wonderful thread about love made me wonder about something else.

what have you achieved/become since leaving the organisation that proves there is a happy, successful life outside being a jehovah's witness?

for me, although it's only been a very short time, too short to achieve much, i count becoming: non-judgemental of my fellow man; a mum that can give her kids all the room to grow and blossom without fear of 'sinning' or being kicked out for bad behaviour; a person that can feel comfortable worshipping in a church or not, depending on whatever i feel like doing; someone who can love and give freely and celebrate life in all it's glory (i just love birthdays!

I have totally reconciled with my Dfd son and put his fears of dying at armegeddon to rest. Could I ask for more?
